Alison McMahon is the CEO of Cannabis At Work, a Certified Human Resource
Professional, educator and entrepreneur. After 10 years of providing HR
solutions to customers across Canada, she founded Cannabis at Work in 2015.
Cannabis at Work is the leading source in Canada for cannabis jobs, recruitment
services, online industry training, and workplace impairment training.
Alison holds a Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations (B.HRLR)
and a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
Alison served on the board for the Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA)
for 3 years. In addition, Alison is a former Term Instructor at the MacEwan
University School of Business.
Dana Larsen is one of Canada’s most well-known and respected advocates for cannabis reform and an end to the global war on drugs.
Larsen is a Vancouver cannabis activist, author, businessman and politician. He served ten years as editor of Cannabis Culture Magazine, was the co-founder of the Vancouver Seed Bank, and is the former Vice President of the Canadian Association of Cannabis Dispensaries.He currently serves as founding director of the Vancouver Dispensary Society and is also founder and director of Sensible BC, Canada’s largest grassroots cannabis reform organization.
Larsen was a founding member of the BC Marijuana Party and the Canadian Marijuana Party. In 2003 he joined the NDP, running as an NDP candidate in 2008. In 2011, he ran for the Leadership of the BC NDP.
More recently, Larsen founded the Overgrow Canada campaign, giving away over 2.3 million cannabis seeds in 2016, followed by a five million cannabis seed giveaway in 2017. You can sign up for 2018 here.
Larsen is also the author of books including Hairy Pothead and the Marijuana Stone, Green Buds and Hash, The Pie-Eyed Piper, and Cannabis in Canada, the Illustrated History.
Larsen is a key organizer for Vancouver’s biggest annual cannabis events, including the 4/20 Celebration at Sunset Beach, the Cannabis Day celebration on July 1, and the Global Marijuana March on the first Saturday in May.

Alex is a lawyer based in Calgary, Alberta who practices in the area of medical cannabis
regulatory compliance and legal issues related to the cannabis industry. He has counselled
licence applicants, investors and lenders on both the Marihuana for Medical Purposes
Regulations (MMPR) and the Marihuana Medical Access Regulations (MMAR) and has advised
on the rights and duties of medical marijuana licence holders in the workplace.
Alex is an active proponent of modernizing the Government of Canada’s cannabis laws by
repealing prohibition and implementing a reasonable regulatory framework. He has been closely
following the development of Canada’s medical marijuana laws and the proposed Cannabis Act,
in order to continue to advise businesses and individuals on this developing area of the law.
Alex has represented clients at all levels of Court in Nova Scotia and Alberta and has appeared
before numerous administrative tribunals. Alex is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and
the Law Society of Alberta.

Jonathan M. Ablett

Jonathan is a corporate/commercial lawyer with focus in various areas including business
incorporation, shareholder agreements, reorganization, corporate transactions, large-scale
financing and acquisition, federal and provincial regulatory conformity, and the financing of
international collateral. Jon’s education in business and economics provides him with a sense of
business reality that is advantageous to his clients. He is also the author of a small business
toolkit, a valuable publication full of information for any small or privately held business.
Jonathan has spoken previously on the nature of cannabis law in Canada, including a
presentation to an industry group in Ottawa in May 2017 on the employment implications of
medical and recreational cannabis, the history of liberalization of cannabis in Canadian caselaw,
and the application of provincial bills of rights and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Jodi McDonald is the President & Founder of Keystone Labs Inc., (www.keystonelabs.ca) an Edmonton based Health Canada accredited testing facility with a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) establishment license. Keystone Labs was incorporated in 2005 and in August 2015, acquired a Health Canada controlled substance license to conduct cannabis testing. Jodi has a background in clinical and microbiology sciences and her passion is bridging the gap between analytical and microbial sciences and the medical cannabis industry to help improve the quality of medicinal cannabis products being used by patients. Her vision is to offer validated and quality testing data comparable to the pharmaceutical industry for medical cannabis patients health and safety. Jodi has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta. She is a writer for HydroLife magazine on scientific topics regarding cannabis testing. Jodi is very involved with the Alberta Women Entrepreneurs, enabling women to build successful businesses. Also, Jodi offers her scientific expertise to several key advisory boards; NAIT Biological Sciences Laboratory and Research Program Advisory Committee, University of Alberta, Medical Laboratory Sciences Advisory Committee.
Lori Ferguson Ford

Stan Swiatek – Sundial Founder & CEO Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Stan Swiatek is an astute businessman and has spent his entire life as an entrepreneur. For over 40 years, Stan owned and operated a construction and land development company where he led and managed complex residential and commercial real estate projects.In 2006, Stan pursued his passion for agriculture and horticulture by purchasing a cucumber farm where he grew long English Cucumbers at his 30,000-square foot greenhouse facility. Stan’s penchant for innovation led him to undergo a major renovation of the facility where he introduced grow lights in the greenhouse. This innovation was the first of its kind in Alberta and resulted in an increase in cucumber production by more 25% the industry standard. Today, Stan is recognized by the Alberta agricultural and horticultural industry as an innovator and collaborator.Six years later and after several years researching the medicinal cannabis industry, Stan made the decision to convert his cucumber farm to become a ACMPR licensed cannabis producer which is known today as Sundial.
